HALT Proposes Zoning Bylaw Changes

The town’s Open Space and Landscape Preservation Development (OSLPD) bylaw allows more compact clustering of homes in a development in return for preserving at least half the land to open space. HALT president Morrie Gasser gave a presentation to the Planning Board on HALT’s experience in the last 20 years of working with OSLPDs, describing what was good and what was not so good. He then suggested some ideas for changing the OSLPD bylaw to better protect the open space, making it more attractive to users and easier to manage.
