Winter Fun

January 7 brought us about a foot of snow, the first major storm of the season. The next day, with the sun blazing and snow still clinging to the trees, was a great time to get outdoors for some for some spectacular views. Above is a scene on the northern boundary of the Pratt Farm area of Fruit Street, overlooking Whitehall Brook. The parking lot at the Fruit Street fields are plowed all winter, and a 30-minute snowshoe or cross-country ski, following tracks left by others on nearly flat terrain, will get you do this beautiful spot.
